Since Sunday, the one incident which has been talked about probably the most within the IPL is Virat Kohli’s dismissal off Harshit Rana’s bowling in Kolkata. In a match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders, Kohli was caught and bowled by Harshit Rana. There’s huge ambiguity on whether or not the ball was authorized or not. Kohli was satisfied that the total toss was a no-ball nd the previous RCB captain even vent out his frustration by shouting on the umpire. Kohli has been fined 50 per cent of his match charges following the act.

After the incident, former Indian cricket group star Mohammad Kaif took to Instagram to slam the umpiring in IPL 2024.

Commenting on Virat Kohli’s punishment for displaying dissent, the IPL mentioned in a launch: “Mr Virat Kohli, Batter, Royal Challengers Bengaluru has been fined 50 per cent of his match charges for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct throughout Match 36 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 towards Kolkata Knight Riders on the Eden Gardens, Kolkata on April 21, 2024.

“Kohli dedicated a Degree 1 offence underneath Article 2.8 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. He admitted to the offence and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction. For Degree 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s determination is ultimate and binding.”
