West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on April 5 hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his remarks about atrocities towards girls and corruption, asserting that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and her authorities had taken stern motion towards the culprits concerned in alleged sexual abuse of ladies in Sandeshkhali.

Whereas addressing a rally in Jalpaiguri, Ms. Banerjee stated the allegations of corruption towards the TMC are “politically motivated” and puzzled why Central funds have been stopped regardless of the Centre sending greater than 300 Central groups to oversee the utilization of funds.
