Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on February 3 ordered a high-level inquiry into the Ulhasnagar firing incident involving a BJP MLA and an area Shiv Sena chief, calling it “critical”.

“Kalyan MLA Ganpat Gaikwad of the BJP opened fireplace on Mahesh Gaikwad, the Shiv Sena chief of Kalyan, inside a police station at Ulhasnagar in Thane district on Friday evening over a land dispute,” a police official has stated.

“The incident is critical and I’ve requested the DGP (Director Common of Police) to carry a high-level Inquiry. Everyone seems to be equal earlier than the regulation regardless of their political affiliations,” Mr. Fadnavis advised reporters.
