IMA Andhra Pradesh chapter remembers providers of medical doctors who died throughout pandemic on COVID Martyrs’ Day

Highlighting the sacrifices made by the medical fraternity for the general public throughout the pandemic, Indian Medical Affiliation (IMA)-Andhra Pradesh Chapter commemorated January 30, which marks the demise anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, as COVID Martyrs’ Day.

A launch from the affiliation stated: “Whereas paying emotional tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, to all those that sacrificed their lives for the nation’s Independence and to the Jawans who laid down their lives to guard the integrity of the nation, we want to recall the providers rendered by medical doctors throughout the nation throughout the pandemic.”

IMA State basic secretary P. Phaninadra stated whereas 125 medical doctors died within the line of responsibility throughout the pandemic within the State, the quantity is greater than 2,000 once we speak of the nation. Former IMA nationwide president and Padma Shree awardee Okay.Okay. Agarwal, former IMA State president Potluri Gangadhara Rao have been outstanding amongst those that died.

“Many extra medical doctors have been affected by COVID results. We now have to determine and attain out to them,” Dr. Phanindra stated.

Rallies and programmes have been held throughout the 100 IMA branches within the State. In Vijayawada, a stroll was organised from the IMA Corridor to the Eluru Highway. Dr. Phanindra stated greater than 150 nursing employees and college students took half within the stroll.
