About 21 kids at an orphanage in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore have alleged horrific abuse and torture by its workers, the police mentioned. 

The horror unraveled after a staff of the Youngster Welfare Committee (CWC) carried out a shock inspection on the orphanage final week. 

Police mentioned the youngsters informed officers that the workers would torture them over minor errors. “The kids informed the staff that they had been hung the wrong way up, branded with scorching iron and photographed after being stripped,”officers mentioned.

They had been additionally made to inhale smoke from burning purple chilies.

A First Data Report or FIR has been registered towards 5 workers of the orphanage and investigation is on.

“A four-year-old little one was locked within the rest room and never given meals for two-three days after he defecated in his pants,” the FIR mentioned. 

Police mentioned the orphanage – run by the Vatsalyapuram Jain Belief – had not been registered beneath the Juvenile Justice Act. The Belief additionally has orphanages in Bengaluru, Surat, Jodhpur and Kolkata.

“The case was filed primarily based on a grievance filed by the CEC. The orphanage was instantly sealed and the youngsters had been shifted to authorities amenities,” mentioned Amrendra Singh, Extra Commissioner of Police, Indore.

The kids on the facility are orphans from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Odisha, and Madhya Pradesh, it is learnt.
