The Karnataka Forest Division officers, with the assistance of a group of tamed elephants, captured a wild tusker, which had been inflicting bother to native folks in a espresso property at Vatehalli close to Arehalli in Belur taluk of Hassan district on Thursday, April 18.

The division succeeded in capturing the elephant, which has been recognized by the locals as Karadi, as quickly as they started the operation that day. A group of guards and watchers tracked the animal, and it was sedated by firing a tranquillizer dart.

The wild tusker had been roaming the villages of Belur and Sakaleshpur taluks. Not too long ago, it was noticed preventing with one other tusker within the residential locality of Hullenahalli in Belur taluk. The locals had put strain on the Forest Division to seize it. The animal, it’s stated, was liable for the dying of an agricultural labourer at Mattavara in Belur taluk on January 4.

Tamed elephants Abhimanyu, Karnataka Bhima, Harsha, Prashantha, Sugreeva, Dhananjaya, Ashwathama and Mahindra had been concerned within the train.

The officers have stated the captured elephant might be shifted to Dubare elephant camp. The operation to seize a number of different rogue elephants will proceed in Hassan district. The division has sought the cooperation of the farmers and native folks through the operation.
