Greater than 650 commandos from the State police and the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) participated within the Nationwide Safety Guard’s (NSG) two-week counter-terrorism and counter-improvised explosive machine (IED) train that concluded on Saturday.
An announcement by the NSG stated 31 groups from States similar to Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Jammu & Kashmir, Puducherry, Chandigarh, and 10 groups from 5 CAPFs, comprising a complete of 667 elite commandos, participated within the train.
“The workouts honed counter-terrorist, bomb disposal, and K9 groups’ (canine squads) expertise via demonstrations, shows, and case research, emphasising on joint operations in difficult eventualities to enhance the coordination and synergy between NSG and State-level forces. This annual train aligns with the Ministry of Dwelling Affairs’ directives of ‘Responsibility to Share’ experience by NSG in its area of interest competencies,” the NSG stated.
It added that the groups had been skilled in tactical city and rural settings. Stay interventions had been carried out in numerous eventualities, together with buses, metros, trains, and plane, and in IED search and on defuse them.
