India has efficiently test-fired a long-range hypersonic missile from the APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh mentioned on Sunday, November 17, 2024.

The missile was test-fired on Saturday (November 16), in response to officers.

Mr. Singh described the test-firing of the missile as a historic second because it put India within the group of choose nations having capabilities to develop such vital applied sciences.

“India has achieved a significant milestone by efficiently conducting flight trial of lengthy vary hypersonic missile from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island, off-the-coast of Odisha,” the defence minister mentioned on ‘X’.

“It is a historic second and this important achievement has put our nation within the group of choose nations having capabilities of such vital and superior navy applied sciences,” he mentioned.

Mr. Singh congratulated the Defence Analysis and Improvement Organisation (DRDO), the armed forces and the business for what he described as a “stupendous” achievement.
