Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday (January 21, 2025) questioned whether or not there have been no rapes throughout the BJP regime.
He was reacting to the BJP’s allegation in regards to the deteriorating legislation and order scenario within the State within the wake of a girl raped at Ok.R. Market in Bengaluru on Sunday evening.
The sufferer who was ready for a bus to Yelahanka was allegedly raped by two males. Police have arrested two individuals on this connection.
“The incident occurred in SJ Park. The criticism pertains to extortion and sexual assault. Two individuals have been arrested,” Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda informed reporters right here in Bengaluru.
Reacting to BJP’s fees on this regard whereas talking to reporters in Belagavi, Siddaramaiah requested “Have not rapes taken place throughout the BJP regime?” He mentioned that rapes mustn’t occur and ladies must be protected.
“Anti-social components within the society do such issues. We’ll take stringent motion towards them,” the Chief Minister added.
The BJP on Tuesday demanded the resignation of Residence Minister G. Parameshwara claiming that the circumstances of crimes resembling theft, homicide, rapes and atrocities on the weaker sections of the society have instantly elevated.
The get together termed the Chief Minister’s reply irresponsible.
Get together spokesperson Ashwath Narayana Gowda mentioned the Chief Minister, Residence Minister G. Parameshwara and others have been giving such statements, which is deplorable.
“This isn’t a press release anticipated from a Chief Minister. That is like encouraging the criminals. Our get together strongly condemns it,” Gowda mentioned.
