Round 60 flights delayed at Kolkata airport resulting from poor visibility

Round 60 flights had been delayed on the Kolkata airport on Monday (January 6, 2024) resulting from poor visibility, an official mentioned.

As a result of dense fog, low visibility procedures (LVP) needed to be applied on the airport from 7 a.m., the official mentioned.

In keeping with the Director of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Worldwide Airport (NSCBIA) Pravat Ranjan Beuria no site visitors motion occurred from 7.10 am to 9 am and round 30 flight arrivals and 30 departures had been delayed, the airport director mentioned.

As well as, 5 incoming flights to Kolkata had been diverted to different airports.

All preparations had been made to facilitate the stranded passengers within the airport’s terminal, Mr. Beuria claimed.

He mentioned that visibility circumstances improved after 9 am and the primary flight to reach on the airport was the Emirates flight from Dubai to Kolkata (EK 570). It landed at 9.04 am.
